How to Get Dressed for a Snow Day

Well, this is fun! In this writing project, I aimed to master clarity on instructions on how to deal with cold weather in an entertaining vocabulary yet understandable to all knowledge levels, mostly targeting people raised in tropical countries. The focus was on providing straightforward information without unnecessary embellishments.

In “How to Get Dressed for a Snow Day,” I drew inspiration from my own experience of moving from Brazil to the United States during winter. The instructions are intentionally playful, always embracing the feeling of disbelief that there is indeed “ice falling down from the sky”.

Utilizing my learning curve, the piece evolved into a brochure offering step-by-step guidance on winter dressing. From choosing the suitable fabrics to layering effectively, each instruction was accompanied by tips and lighthearted humor, creating an engaging and informative read.

With my hand drawing, I ensured the piece avoided a catalog-like appearance while maintaining visual appeal, being friendly and cozy. Versions in both Portuguese and English were created using Photoshop and Illustrator.
