A Brazilian Flea Market

“Feira do Rolo” is an initiative to facilitate connections among Aupairs and ex-Aupairs while providing a space for buying, selling, and exchanging goods on a flea market experience for the Brazilian community in Maryland.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrant atmosphere of street markets in Brazil, combining my neighborhood’s open events initiatives with face painting, storytelling, and ice cream food trucks, I set the stage for Feira do Rolo. This mood board was a visual guide for the event’s ambiance and location.

A Brazilian Typeface, Of Course: To capture the essence of Brazilian culture, I opted for the “Oferta do Dia” typeface by Eduardo Ramalho. This font, reminiscent of Brazilian marketplaces, added authenticity and flair to the event’s branding across banners, posters, and price tags.

Through careful planning and attention to detail, Feira do Rolo emerged as a vibrant celebration of Brazilian culture, fostering connections and fulfilling community needs in the heart of Maryland.

The project was created in the spring of 2024 for the Design Principles and Strategies class.
